In the past decennia Food Safety has developped into a decision making factor on the purchase of fresh produce. SFI Rotterdam BV takes it very seriously and has always been at the forefront of new developments ensuring the implementation of European Food Safety legislation. Our suppliers work according to GlobalGap or equivalent standards and are certified by recognized international accreditors. All our fruit is checked by official food inspectors in the country of origin and the country of arrival before we sell it on the European market. In addition to that we have our own quality inspector who makes sure the fruit does not only comply with EU standards but also SFI's quality specifications. Furthermore we are a member of the independent and voluntary food monitoring organisation Food Kompass that randomly selects fruit and tests it for residues. SFI Rotterdam BV is certified according to HACCP and IFS standarts and is proud to be one of the first non-banana importing companies to be accredited AEO status by European Customs. On top of that we regularly commission additional residue testing by recognized chemical institutes in the countries of origin, in Germany as well as the Netherlands. We take care that our suppliers are updated on changes in MRL's and other quality related topics.
